Stackology- 2.24.10

Going to stop writing intros to these things, unless I have something terribly pressing to mention, as I think enough people know how this thing works by now. Here’s the catch from this past Wednesday…

ROBOCOP #2
TEEN TITANS #80
UNKNOWN SOLDIER #17
THE WALKING DEAD #70
KING CITY #5
ULTIMATE COMICS ENEMY #2
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #622
SECRET WARRIORS #13
SCALPED #35
NEW AVENGERS #62
BATMAN AND ROBIN #9
BLACKEST NIGHT #7

#1- After Rick’s quick entrance interview is satisfactorily completed, he experiences a whirlwind makeover—hot shower, shave, and hair cut included, and is quickly reborn as the town’s brand new constable. Seeing him calmly strolling down the street with his fresh haircut and fresh uniform, checking in with his son and a group of playing children, is a great moment—something that I’m sure few people ever expected to see in this title. Even though it’s certain this will all turn bad in the several months, we’ve never seen Rick Grimes quite this way, and it never even occurred to me that it could actually be him on the book’s cover. (The Walking Dead #70)

#2- With two Captain Americas pinned down by the Living Laser, Cage shows up and ends the standoff in impressive fashion. And soon reveals that the real reason he’s even on the scene is to retrieve his daughter’s lost binky from the wreckage of their old hideout, a problem that initially presented itself in Jason Aaron’s Weapon X book a couple weeks ago. Also a great moment when he realizes that Rogers is back from the dead, and scoops him up in a giant hug. (New Avengers #62)

#3- This book has been every kind of awesome the past few months, hasn’t it? Blackest Knight concludes in top form here, and obviously the star sequence is the big Batman/Robin/Alfred/Batwoman vs. Zombie Batman throwdown. The character of Damian Wayne gets just a little more exciting each and every month, and watching him and Alfred more than hold their own until the cavalry shows up was good fun. And yes Dick, Tim Drake was right all along, thanks for saying it out loud for everyone to hear. (Batman and Robin #9)

Also read: Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds, X-Men/Spider-Man…
